Bridging
In U.S. Figure Skating, the Bridging Program is designed to help skaters transition from Learn to Skate USA classes into more structured figure skating training. It “bridges” the gap by giving skaters the chance to build stronger skills, learn proper practice habits, and experience smaller group or semi-private instruction. This program prepares skaters for the commitment and expectations of the Advanced level by focusing on solid fundamentals, confidence, and readiness for testing or competition.
The U.S. Figure Skating Aspire Program provides a solid foundation in figure skating through the development of athleticism and artistry, empowering skaters to be successful on and off the ice.
WCFSC Aspire Program (previously named Bridging) provides skaters with a transition from Learn to Skate classes, into figure skating with Advanced, through the use of small group lessons. Skaters will learn to train like a figure skater, working on the fundamentals in skating skill, spins, and jumps! We will continue working through the basic skills levels, as well.
This class is for skaters who want to become figure skaters! Skaters should at least be working on the basic 5 level. This class is not open to skaters who have already passed their USFS Pre-Preliminary skating skills test.
Skaters will be divided into groups, based on level, to work on combing their basic skills with figure skating elements.
Practices
Practices are set on Tuesday and Thursday of the week. During the second year in the Bridging program, the skaters are invited to 1 practice with the Advanced team to see how individualized this sport is, before committing.
Extra Costs
Extra costs may include private lessons with Advanced coaches in year 2.
