Advanced

In U.S. Figure Skating, the Advanced level is invite only and designed for skaters who have demonstrated strong skills, commitment, and readiness for higher-level training. At WCFSC, advancement is determined by our Advanced Head Coach, Zane Frick, who evaluates each skater’s progress and readiness before extending an invitation to join.

The Advanced Program is designed for skaters who have completed the Learn to Skate USA Basic 6 or Pre-Free Skate levels and are ready to take the next step in their figure skating journey. This program focuses on more structured training in freestyle, moves in the field, and/or ice dance, with opportunities for private lessons, small group classes, and U.S. Figure Skating testing. Skaters will work on advanced skills like jumps, spins, edges, and choreography while also having the option to participate in competitions and club events. This program helps build confidence, discipline, and a deeper understanding of the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

Practices

Advanced practice schedule is handed to the parents before the season starts.

Extra Costs

Extra costs include private lessons for coaching at each practice, competition/testing expenses, costume/dress expenses.

Frequently Asked Questions

My skater thinks she is ready for Advanced; can I sign them up?
